About the Owners Mark and Lori Muench
Popcorn, fudge, and candies. OH MY!
Julie’s Country Confections was started by Mike and Julie Desterhoft as an extension of Parkview General Store. After 20+ years of confections and running the store, Mike and Julie retired and split the business. What started out as a part-time summer side job for us eventually lead to us taking over a confectionary business.
Between our full-time jobs of teaching reading in West Bend (Lori) and highway foreman for the Town of Scott (Mark), you can find us in Campbellsport, Wisconsin in our commercial kitchen whipping up a batch of fudge or creating a new gourmet popcorn. Of course, we can’t manage all of this on our own. We also have 10 regular part-time employees as well as our 4 adult children and one grandpup who serves as our mascot. (HAHA).
So what do we do for fun? Mark and I are both members of the Beechwood Fire Department and the Town of Scott First Responders. Mark has been Fire Chief of the Beechwood Fire Department since 1993. We also enjoy trips on our motorcycle, adventures in Door County, and time spent with family and friends.
The best part of our business is our customers. Whether you are a regular customer at the West Bend Farmer’s Market, or a first time customer at an event, seeing our customers’ smiles makes all of the hard work worth it.
